Billy “Red” Vaden Spears, 88, of New Hope, Tennessee passed away January 31. Red was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, gardening, working on cars, and riding horses. He was a founding member of the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department.
Red was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Frances (Roberts) Spears; parents, John L. and Beulah (Ellis) Spears; brothers, Jack, L. C. and Clyde Spears; sisters, Elizabeth “Cricket” Hogan, and Nelda Rollins.
Those left to cherish his memory are daughter, Doris Currington; grandchildren, Dr. Frances (Russell Black) Harper, Reverend Crystal (Tim) Fallesen, David “D.J.” Currington, Jr., Lakrisa “K.C.” (Dave) Padgett; great grandchildren, Eli, Khloe, Arabella, Nakaia Fallesen, Gianna, Violet, Zimbracko Currington, Jazmyn Gentry, Peyton, Maeson Freeman and McKinsely Hollis; sister, Linda (Virgil) White and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 5, from Noon to 2 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services are on Wednesday, February 5, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Brother David Marona and Reverend Crystal Fallesen officiating.
Interment will be on Wednesday, February 5, at Pine Grove Cemetery (New Hope Cemetery) in New Hope immediately following the funeral service.
