Bill Skyles, 82

Bill Skyles of South Pittsburg passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19 at the age of 82.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Skyles, his granddaughter Paula Amber Lewis, his mother Velma Skyles, his sisters Brenda Skyles, and Mary Sue Pemberton, his twin brother Billy Skyles, and his brothers J.L. Skyles, Bobby Skyles, and Paul Skyles.

He is survived by his loving children Mary Ann Stewart, Lisa Skyles, Teresa Lewis, Sherry Collins and Billy Joe Skyles, sisters Patsy Skyles and Alice Pemberton, brother James Skyles, several nieces, nephews, as well as friends.

Bill was a proud grandfather to William Skyles, Paula Stewart, Cadence Stewart, China Laster, Christina Lewis Emmanuel Laster, Chris Collins, Keisha Brymer, Michelle Pemberton, and Kayla Pemberton. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Remedy Skyles, Rayleigh Moore, Nova Stewart, Brantley Talley, Kinsley Talley, Chloe Berry, Raelynn Brymer, Peyton Maxwell, Taylor Collins, Lakelyn Collins and Maelah Gray.

Bill’s greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren. He loved fishing and cherished family gatherings, where his warmth, humor, and kindness brought everyone together. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose legacy of love and laughter will live on in all who knew him.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 23 at 2 p.m. at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, with Pastor Darrell Nunley who officiated.

Visitation was also held on Tuesday, December 23 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service in the chapel.
