The Tennessee Bass Nation High School/Youth Tournament from Marion County Park was held on Nickajack Lake with local teams finishing in the money during the event.
There are boats from all over the state including Bedford, Cannon, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Lincoln, Tullahoma and Warren. A total of 167 teams weighed in fish and there were a total of 450 fish caught weighing a combined 970 pounds.
Locally, Whitwell competitors Ethan Castle and Adam McDougal weighed in at 12.7 lbs. finished 15th of 238 high school boats to win a $250 scholarship check. Mac Lawson and Thomas Weaver weighed in at 10.7 lbs. and finished 25th of 238 high school boats to win $200 scholarship check.
Sarah Swindle/Laine Holbert, Riverside High School Fishing Team made history with the win as the first ALL girl team in the Statewide trail with five fish at 18.04 pounds.
