Bertie Lois Ball Frye, 89

Bertie Lois Ball Frye, 89, of Whitwell was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 15. On September 25,1934, she was born to the late John L. Ball and Cora Kilgore Ball. Lois was married to the late Robert R. Frye. She was a member of Layne’s Chapel Church and before she retired, she worked for Whitwell Hospital in the Dietary Department, which she loved. Lois loved flowers, especially red roses, and enjoyed being outside. She loved her family very much and loved spending time with them.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Douglas Frye; brothers, Gene Ball, Hugh Ball; sisters, Mildred Johnson and Beulah Morrison; grandson, Lee Headrick and great granddaughter, Calli Cates.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Danny (Lori) Frye; grandchildren, Thomas Cates, Robert Daniel Frye, David (Kathy) Wells, Jill (Robert) Lowrey; great grandchildren, Axton Cates, Ashley Wells, Trinity, Jesse, and Ely Lowrey; several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation is Tuesday, September 17, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral is Wednesday, September 18, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Allan Holloway officiating.

Burial is Wednesday, September 18 at Layne’s Chapel Cemetery in Whitwell immediately following the funeral service.

Special thanks to Adoration Hospice and nurses for their great care of Lois, especially Anna Parton and Katy Loyd.

Pallbearers are Johnny Condra, Roger Johnson, David Wells, Donnie Green, Teddy Flanagan and Donnie Slayback.
