Ann Jo (Ann) Middleton Peoples

Ann Jo (Ann) Middleton Peoples, of South Pittsburg, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Ann was born February 21, 1932, to the late James Aaron and Tennie Jane Middleton, in Bridgeport, AL.

She dedicated her life to serving others as a nurse in several capacities for over forty years.

Ann was a member of First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg where she taught Sunday school.  She was also very involved with Grace Baptist Church in South Pittsburg, for which she had a great love.

She enjoyed playing a variety of sports, especially softball.  Ann enjoyed walking the mountains, riding bicycles, and playing cards with her sisters.  Regardless of the activity she was always very competitive.  She also enjoyed attending Pirates football games.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Squire Wallace (Watchie) Peoples, six brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Wallace V. Peoples (Tywanna), of Springfield, TN.  Danny A. Peoples (Shirley), of New Hope, TN and Tony E. Peoples (Linda), of South Pittsburg, TN, one sister, Shirley Campbell of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.  four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg with Rev. Ronnie Case officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, September 29, 2023, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Peoples will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Masonic Garden of Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.

The pallbearers will be Dale Campbell, Lloyd Campbell, Hunter Lemay, Michael Middleton, Dakota Peoples and Lucas Peoples.
