Ann Gray, Library Director of the Carolyn Stewart Public Library, recently graduated from the Tennessee State Library & Archives Class of 2025.
The class, known as the Tennessee Archives Institute, is a one-and-a-half-day workshop where librarians from across the state receive beginner to intermediate-level training in archiving, preservation, and handling public records. According to a post shared by the Town of Jasper on its official Facebook page, Gray is only the second director in the library’s history to graduate from the program, earning an official certificate in Public Library Management.
To earn the certification, a librarian or archivist must complete the course over three consecutive years. Upon completion, participants receive their management certificate.
Everyone at the library is proud of Gray’s accomplishment, and she looks forward to using the skills she gained to better serve the community through the Carolyn Stewart Public Library.
