Alma was a devoted member of Wells Chapel United Methodist Church where she was on the committee and was a treasurer.  Alma graduated from Howard High School.  Her love for math led her to Tennessee State University and she graduated with a degree in mathematics in 1952.  She taught at Alton Park and Howard High School.  She was loved by her students and won teacher of the year.  Alma retired from Chattanooga Public Schools after 40 years of teaching in 1992.  After retirement she taught at Chattanooga State.  Alma liked to play sudoku, solitaire and card games with friends.  She loved flowers, gardening, traveling and reading books.  To know Alma was to love her.  So full of life, she never met a stranger.  One thing is for sure, you never had to wonder what she was thinking because she would surely let you know.  Definitely the queen of no filter.  Alma was very kindhearted and extremely generous.  She loved her family dearly.  Alma’s beautiful smile, quick wit, humor and infectious laugh will be missed.
