St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School is pleased to announce that Chris Teran will join the faculty as assistant head of school for strategic enrollment, effective April 1.
Teran brings to SAS 20 years of experience in admission, enrollment management, financial aid, and institutional research at both the secondary education and collegiate levels. He currently serves as director of admission and enrollment management at Parish Episcopal School in Dallas.
“I am excited to join the SAS community, recognizing both the responsibility and privilege of preserving and advancing the School’s brand and mission,” Teran said. “I look forward to drawing on my experience to help the school anticipate, adapt to, and navigate market challenges that will continue to shape the future of independent schools. I am also inspired by the school’s unique relationship with the University of the South and its commitment to outdoor education, distinctive features that prospective families value and few schools can truly deliver.”
Head of School Karl Sjolund said, “Chris brings an exceptional blend of strategic thinking, data fluency, and relational leadership. He understands that strong enrollment work is ultimately about people and purpose–building trust with families while aligning strategy with mission. We are thrilled to welcome him to the SAS community.”
As assistant head for strategic enrollment, Teran will work closely with faculty, staff, and school leadership to advance SAS’s enrollment vision and strengthen recruitment and retention efforts. He will continue to help articulate the school’s distinctive relationship with the University of the South and the academic, residential, and outdoor experiences it provides to families locally, nationally, and internationally.
