Jean Nelson Parks of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on January 21 in Nashville, Tennessee after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.
She was preceded in death by husband Charles H Parks, parents Daisy and Ruth Daffron, father Cecil Nelson, as well as brother-in-law and sister Austin “Bucky” and Minnie Tate.
Jean was a 1958 graduate of Marion County High School in Jasper. She spent over 50 years working in the dental offices of Hiran A Laws III, DDS and later Paul Carico, DDS. During these years she earned her certificate as a Dental Assistant.
Jean is survived by sisters Mary Daffron King and Margaret Nelson French, nieces and nephews Gwen (Rodger) Sullivan, Cindy French, Jamie (Julie) French, David (Martha) Tate, Eric Tate, and John Williams and their respective families, step daughter Lee Anne (Tim) Hulgan, their four children Lydia, Bret, Autumn (Noah) Hall, and Levi (Jordan) Hulgan, as well as thier eight great grandchildren.
Interment of ashes will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday, April 10 at 1 p.m. ET.
