The Whitwell Tigers traveled to Lookout Valley last Friday night looking to extend their winning streak to five games after starting the season 0–2. The Tigers accomplished that goal, picking up two wins, 17-5 and 10-2.

Whitwell started game one slowly but exploded for nine runs in the third inning. Gabe Ross got the scoring started with a bases-loaded hit that brought in one run. Colin Beason drove in another run on a sacrifice fly. Eli Robertson followed by driving in Brayden Riley. Talan Beason singled to continue the rally, and Brody Harvey added a single that knocked in two more runs. Freshman Kaden Miller singled, allowing two runs to score. Bennett Goforth scored the final run of the inning on a passed ball.

Beason singled in the fifth inning to drive in two runs. Xander Morgan later scored on an error. Goforth drove in three runs to add to the Tigers’ lead, and Beason came up again in the inning and knocked in another run.

Harvey earned the win for Whitwell, striking out four while allowing only one hit and one run.

In the second game, the Tigers continued their hot hitting from the first matchup. Miller got Whitwell on the board with a single past the shortstop. Harvey then drove in Mac Lawson and Ross with a single to left field.

Cayden Green drove in Xander Morgan during the second inning to give the Tigers a four-run lead. Ross followed by driving in the next two runs for Whitwell. Green came up again the very next inning and knocked in two more runs.

Reed Holloway earned the win for the Tigers, allowing one hit and striking out three batters. Landon Smith was strong in relief, recording five strikeouts while allowing two hits.
