Barbara Ann (Dalton) Belk, 79

Barbara Ann (Dalton) Belk, 79 was taken to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 12 in the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center.  A loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was born on August 15, 1946. Barbara was a long-time member of Baptist Hill Baptist Church in Jasper. She loved to garden her flowers and cook, two life-long passions passed down from her loving mother.  She was retired from Memorial Hospital Pharmacy in Chattanooga, Tennessee and loved to travel with her husband and family to the beach.  She served God and loved her family, her friends, and her church family.  She will be dearly missed.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years James William “Buddy” Belk, parents Isaac “Jack” and Bertha Dalton, parent-in-laws Claude and Thelma “Penny” Belk, infant son William Stanley Belk, as well as eight brothers and sisters and several in-laws.

Left to cherish her memory, she is survived by her daughter Sharon Belk Davis (Jim) of Rossville, GA, son Jeffery Belk of Chattanooga, TN, grandson Andrew Rector (Krissi) of Venice, Fl, two great-grandchildren Kaleigh and Elijah Rector of Venice, Fl, sister-in-law Polly Taylor of Jasper, TN, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was on Sunday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services were also on Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Roger Webb and Pastor Steve Sellers who officiated.

Barbara was laid to rest on Sunday, March 15 at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, immediately after the funeral services were held.

Pallbearers were Andy Rector, Mike Dalton, Don Dalton, Jim Davis, Elijah Rector and Zachary Dalton.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving support.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee 37347, 423-942-9500.
