Hershel Eugene Reynolds, 86

Hershel Eugene Reynolds, 86 of South Pittsburg was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 7. Born on September 16, 1939 in New Hope, he was the son of Meredith Price Sr. and Annie Kennemore Price. He served in the United States Military. Hershel shared 66 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Maggie Blevins Reynolds, a partnership marked by deep love, faith and family. A dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church, he lived his life with a quiet strength and a steadfast commitment to those he loved. He worked for many years as a supervisor at U.S. Pipe, where he was respected for his work ethic and leadership before retiring. Outside of work, Hershel found joy in the simple, meaningful things, hunting, fishing, and woodworking in his shop. He was also a proud supporter of South Pittsburg Pirates Football, cheering on his hometown team with enthusiasm. Above all, Hershel treasured time spent with his family. His children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren were the light of his life and he cherished every moment shared with them. Hershel leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Hershel is preceded in death by his father Meredith Price, mother Annie Kennemore Price, sons Clinton & Clayton Reynolds, brother Meredith Reynolds Jr., and sisters Elizabeth Stephens, Margaret Choate, Lillian Dodd and Vera Dodd.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Maggie Blevins Reynolds, sons Timothy (Stacie) Reynolds and Eric (Patricia) Reynolds, daughter Teresa Griffith, brother Dallas (Judy) Reynolds, sister Violet Goss, grandchildren Ryan (Christina) Griffith, Jakoby (Paige) Reynolds, Kayla (Chris) Edmonds, Kamryn (Chris) Reynolds and Benjamin Reynolds, six great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation was on Tuesday, March 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services were also on Wednesday, March 11 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Wayne Winters who officiated.

Hershel was laid to rest on Wednesday, March 11 at New Hope Cemetery in New Hope immediately after the funeral services were held.

Pallbearers were Ryan Griffith, Jakoby Reynolds, Benjamin Reynolds, Chris Edmonds, Chris Wingo and Earl Blevins.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee 37347, 423-942-9500.
