Taylor Borton will be performing at the Redpoint Inn located on 30 Courthouse Square, in Jasper, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on February 16 and 17. Bringing a taste of traditional country from Nashville, she will be performing alongside local steel guitar player, Andrew Thomas. Guaranteed to be an unforgettable evening with amazing music, drinks and lots of fun! Both shows are free entry.

Borton is a Nashville-based singer/songwriter, storyteller, and musician. Her distinct, eclectic vocals and music effortlessly cross multiple genres blending the best from country, Americana, folk, and singer/songwriter. She pulls from each of these genres to create a rich, pure, and unique style of her own adding raw emotion and real-life experiences to create the stories behind each of her songs. Her voice is traditional yet seasoned with an edgy, contemporary flair. Borton credits John Prine, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and singer/songwriter Lori McKenna as her biggest musical influences.

She is an “old soul” with a young and charismatic spirit, and her songwriting is mature well beyond her years. Music has always been an integral part of Borton’s life. At age 19, she decided to follow her musical dreams, leaving her hometown of Youngstown, Ohio to head to “Music City,’’ where she attended and graduated from The Blackbird Academy, with a degree in audio engineering. Since her move to Nashville, Borton has been creating a buzz among industry professionals and fans alike. In 2020, she released her debut single, “Give a Damn” capturing her true spirit and independence. She has since released four additional singles, “Native,” “If I Was London,” “Glove Box Lighter,” and “My Opry.”

Her new single, “Lyrics in My Head,” the title track of her new EP, is set to be released on August 4 and will be featured on Radio SoBro’s NuMu Friday. The project is self-written and self-produced and the title track shares a relatable and inspirational universal message encouraging listeners to listen to your gut (the lyrics in your head) and not to beat yourself up over things you can’t control. Although she writes from her own personal experiences, her intention is to express those feelings that others may also be feeling but are unable to express to heal. Borton recognizes the biggest reward that comes from her music and platform… and that is the impact that it has on others.
