Jammin’ and Paddlin’ on the River, Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Bridgeport River Park (old Ferry dock) located at the end of County Road 271.
The Bridgeport Local Leadership Team of the Tennessee RiverLine and the City of Bridgeport invite the public to enjoy the Tennessee River while listening to local bands perform. Bring your kayaks or stand-up paddle boards for an easy paddle up river to the Bridgeport Walking Bridge, site of Civil War skirmishes where the bridge was destroyed and the Union Army built a pontoon bridge across the river to keep supplies flowing along the “Cracker Line” in support of the Federal Army besieged at Chattanooga.
A limited number of kayaks and equipment will be available to sign out on a first-come-first-served basis. Free water safety and kayaking lessons. Free hotdogs and water. Come out and enjoy good music, good times, and experience the history, culture, and beauty of the Tennessee River Valley.
